The Versatile Vizsla

A Vizsla as a lifestyle. My journey shaping Sawyer to be a truly versatile vizsla through Conformation, Hunting, and Obedience. But most importantly through all these endeavors Sawyer has become my loving and loyal companion for life.

An Early Morning Trip To Fort Funston

Once in while we are lucky enough to join Pam Lambros and her vizsla crew on an early morning hike at Fort Funston. This is one of my favorite photos from our beach runs.

Sawyer eagerly awaiting Grady's return (he's a HUGE fan of Grady's!)

One Gorgeous Day At Fort Funston

This was one spectacular Fort Funston day. Ed and I had a great hike with Dane and Theresa.

We went through many tennis balls that day...

Red Bluff Fun Match

Joye with Vino
Sawyer and I took a road trip up to Red Bluff to attend a local Fun Match and visit with Joye and the rest of Sawyer's vizsla family overnight. We had a great time on the farm, Sawyer was pretty well behaved up until the end! Having a turkey walk in right in front of you in the barn is really hard for a "City Vizsla" to resist!

Who's who?

Pointing a turkey! Though not the type of game bird vizslas were generally bred to point and retrieve... but you gotta start somewhere!

Very well behaved around the mini horses

Not so much around larger horses!

Moments leading up to "the incident", though no one was harmed!

A Playdate With New Puppy "Oscar" and Ginger

Oscar and his big sister Ginger with their humans Christina and Chris came over for an afternoon to play with the big dogs!

He was running with them in no time!

Dealing out the punches here to Sawyer like a champ!

And learning the "round the tree" keep away game that Chloe, Sawyer and Bond love to play!

Such a cutie!

Sawyer takes Puppy Group Four!!! This was our "Best in Show" moment! We had great ringside seats for the judging!

He's looking good! Very nice stack!

Sawyer make the first cut! We are so impressed with our baby, who is just exhausted from this second day of the benched show!

Sawyer enters the ring competing for Best Puppy Sporting Group

Auntie Lynn to the rescue! I in my cast, and handler with a conflict she so graciously offers to take Sawyer in the ring for me for Best Puppy! She moves him out and takes 1st place!
